Beginning on Friday, September 23, 2005, at 6:00 pm, and running through Sunday morning, The Katrina Relief Concert, organized by Entertainment Aid in coordination with Sam Leach, American English, Onesti Entertainment, and Michael and Joeleen Stanard, will be held at the northern Illinois' newest outdoor concert venue, located in the tiny Village of Greenwood, just north of Historic Woodstock, Illinois.  The venue, located at 5112 Greenwood Road next to Galt Airport, features a 50’ X 70’ covered stage with lawn seating for over 12,000.

Sam Leach, manager of American English, Liverpool resident and original promoter of the Beatles, is also coordinating an identical Katrina Relief concert internationally.

Karen Vaneé of 95.9FM - The River will be hosting the opening evening of music.

Tribute performances will begin at 6:00 pm on Friday and run through Saturday morning.  American English (Beatles Tribute), Elevation (U2 Tribute), The New Invaders (60‘s Tribute), Hot Rocks (Rolling Stones Tribute), Instant Karma (Tribute To John Lennon),  Mark Staycer (solo Lennon tribute), The Amazing Kappa, The Midway Ramblers (Cajun Tribute), Metermaid, G-Man Blues and The Neverly Brothers (50's - 60's), along with many more surprise musicians, will be kicking off the event. (Click on Band button to left to view complete list of scheduled entertainment.)

Donuts and coffee will be available for breakfast purchase after the tributes session ends.  The “Jam Band”  begins at 12:00 pm, featuring a wide array of original artists - Madvine, Malfunktion, Sweet Pick, Tall Grass Magicians, Stray Toasters, Venetian Red, Rob Webster and Friends, and Dag Juhlin of Poi Dog Pondering.  Problem Child, a tribute to Bon Scott and AC/DC will bring the concert to a spectacular close at midnight, Sunday morning.  The Saturday "Jam Band" lineup will be coordinated by Madvine's own Tom Frawley.

A special guest appearance will be made by Thaddeus Richard, a former member of Paul McCartney’s Wings band and a hurricane Katrina survivor from the New Orleans area.  Richard was the clarinet soloist in the Wings song “Listen To What the Man Said,” and many other Wings songs.  Thaddeus also played with McCartney in New Orleans on his Driving Rain Tour in 2002.  He will be speaking about the devastation that occurred in New Orleans and accompanying American English.

The outdoor venue can accommodate up to 12,000 people.  Some limited chaired seating will be available, but it is recommended that attendees bring blankets,  umbrellas and lawn chairs.

Special accommodations will be made for the disabled.

100% of the profits will be donated to The Salvation Army.

The Stanards, owners of Galt Airport, are graciously donating their land and major influence to make the Woodstock Katrina Relief Concert a major contribution to relief efforts.  “Uncle Mike” and his MLH Electrolite lighting company will be providing the lighting for the event.

Gates open at 5:00pm. Ticket prices for a 2-day pass will be $20.00 at the gate ( $10.00 for 12 and under). Parking will be $5.00 per day.

Guests are invited to stay the night either camping under the stars (no tents allowed, so bring a sleeping bag) or camp out in your vehicle. There will be NO CAMP FIRES ALLOWED due to insurance reasons.  No coolers, food, beverages or alcohol will be allowed to be brought in the concert venue. We're also working with some local hotels to try and get discount rates for festival goers.

Food and beer will be available for purchase.

The Salvation Army is asking everyone to bring along these items to help the victims of Katrina:  toothpaste, toothbrushes, shampoo, deodorant, soap, towels, NEW underwear, socks, and t-shirts.

A non profit event to help aid the victims of Hurricane Katrina.
